Mark Rowland, Founder and CEO

Mark has achieved commercial and creative success in media on both sides of the Atlantic.

 

In 2010, he is overseeing the rapid expansion of Indie activities, from the full commercial launch of Digital DollHouse in the USA to the launch of the uMAN reality TV format in the UK. Mark is also Executive Producer of the shows Indie TV has brought to the USA, including the current ABC primetime hit Supernanny. Mark is also non-executive chairman of leading entertainment industry publishing company, C21 Media www.c21media.net and a non-executive director of innovative social games company, Kill5 Games, www.kill5games.com.

 

In 2006, alongside the growth of Indie TV, he launched Tamares Media, for the Tamares investment group and advised Tamares on media and entertainment opportunities relating to their real estate holdings in Las Vegas.

 

In 2004 Mark combined the launch of Indie TV with becoming the CEO of the participation TV company Red Fig Ltd. Mark completed the sale of Red Fig to ETV in 2005.

 

Until the end of 2003, Mark was Managing Director of Television Corporation International and Mentorn International. At the TV Corporation he developed the global interests of its two production companies, Mentorn and Sunset + Vine. In 2003 he landed the year’s biggest reality order from a US network from FOX for Paradise Hotel. In 2003 he won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for success in International Television.

 

Mark was also responsible for building the hugely successful Robot Wars franchise which between 1998 and 2003 reached over 50 countries and was produced for both the BBC and Nickelodeon in the USA.
In 2001 Mark was Executive Producer of Challenge America with Erin Brockovich for ABC Television.

 

Through the nineties as a Director of Mentorn Films, Mark devised and managed diverse programme and business ventures – launching Mentorn’s subsidiaries Worldwide Entertainment News and Mentorn Radio. Mark also launched and produced Today’s the Day the award-winning daily game show which ran for 7 years and over 850 episodes on BBC2. Mark started his career as BBC producer and journalist.

Rosetta Bain, Managing Director, Indie Music

Rosetta has a distinguished track record in identifying and developing talent in both TV and Music. Prior to joining Indie Media, Rosetta was Creative Director of Shine and a former Head of Entertainment for Mentorn. She has produced primetime entertainment programmes for BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4, FIVE and Sky One. She was the creator and Executive Producer of Star for a Night, the BBC1 music talent show which launched the career of Joss Stone.

 

Rosetta started her career as a producer at London Weekend Television making shows that focus on bringing new talent to the screen as well as specialising in reality formats. She went on to create Moviewatch for Channel 4 and produced the first three series before becoming Executive Producer. In 1994 she joined Mentorn as the Head of Development and then went on to become the Head of Entertainment running a department with a wide ranging slate of programming across all channels. At Shine she was responsible for the development of the ground-breaking interactive game show Dial M for Money. All her shows enjoyed ratings success (LWT’s Blind Date regularly attracted 16-18 million viewers, Star for a Night final - 15 million). Rosetta has an acute sense of what appeals to a mass audience.

 

Rosetta discovered Robert Bowden and oversaw the successful conclusion of the 4 album deal with Sony BMG.

Jonathan Rippon, Director of Development, Indie TV

Prior to  joining Indie Media, Jonathan was Deputy Head of Content Development for ITV Imagine, where he developed and pitched global content for ITV/Granada in the UK and the US, investigated global cultural trends and, working with ITV’s Commercial arm, helped to secure £50 million of sponsorship deals for ITV, including those for Coronation Street and The FA Cup.

 

Jonathan possesses a unique blend of creative, production, scheduling and media planning experience in television. During eight years at the BBC, he worked on major marketing campaigns for the corporation and the launch of numerous channels. Jonathan became Scheduler for CBBC, where, working to Nigel Pickard, he created the schedules for the launch of the BBC’s two children’s digital channels, CBBC and CBeebies, which proved to be an instant success. Returning to programme making, Jonathan developed and produced The Saturday Show - live Saturday morning TV at CBBC Scotland, before joining the Dragons' Den development team and creating other Factual Entertainment hit shows.

 

He was subsequently appointed as the first ever Development Executive Producer for LIVINGtv by Richard Woolfe, where he led the development team and his role was quickly extended to encompass Bravo, Challenge and Trouble.

Alex Tinley, Executive in Charge of Production, Indie TV

Alex has been responsible for managing some of the most complex reality TV series in the US, the UK and Australia.

 

Alex began her career in Australia, as an Assistant Director on the highly successful Australian soap Home and Away. In 1996, Alex moved to the UK where she began working for Mentorn Films. In 1997 as Senior Production Manager she oversaw the first four series of Robot Wars, the first three series of Star for a Night for BBC1 and the one off specials Do Us a Favour (BBC1) and Claim to Fame (BBC1).

 

In 1999 Alex was promoted to Head of Production, overseeing all entertainment output for the company, in particular the growth of the Robot Wars brand, including all secondary streams of income and its overseas productions. In addition she managed the ABC Special Challenge America with Erin Brockovich.

 

In 2003 Alex relocated to the US to take on the role of Executive in Charge of Production for Mentorn USA, managing the production of reality hit Paradise Hotel (Fox), America’s Worst Drivers (NBC), Forever Eden (Fox) and Work Out, (Bravo).
